Buffering: Book Review

I am not sure how to write a book review but I am just going to do my best.

This book(buffering) is the first autobiography(?) that I read and also finished in about a day.

While I enjoyed reading this book, it and made me think about lot of things.
Family, relationships, friends, mental illness, LGBTQ+, and everything about life...

I am a subscriber to Hannah's youtube Channel for about 4-5 years. I came across her while I was going though my youtube "recommendations" and also seen some videos with British youtubers collaborate with her. I really enjoyed her content and how she was all ways smiling and having fun with what she does.

I think it was when I was listening to one of Rhett and Link's Ear biscuits podcast episodes that Hannah talked about her family and mentioned her Study abroad to Japan was some how a shock and made me feel close and felt a connection even though I have never met her her before.
"I have something in common! Japanese!" Then I realised that her YouTube channel was literary "Hart" in Japanese. (γƒγƒΌγƒˆ)

I was curious, I am a curious person and I wanted to know who she is.

literally I am writing this after I have finished reading and I am having problems to comprehend.

Some Key worlds I got out of it.

No matter what, you are not alone: different circumstance but we have people around
"depression isn't about tying to run away from the feeling; it's about learning to walk along side it"(p72)

To Hannah,

I would love to meet you and talk about many things. but most of all, want to give you a big hug.

I hope I can meet books like this that have an positive influence to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbrKm-eIUwo

12. Your all-time favourite LostAlone song?

This questions is REALLY difficult....

13. Favourite LostAlone lyric(s)?

"Lost in the world
Trying to find out who we are
We’ve evolved to the point
Where we know that we’re alive
But we still play the part
A lost child in the dark
Trying to find out way home"               -UFOria (The Dark)

14. A LostAlone song you would love to hear live?

I do not think I was able to hear "put pain to paper" live.
But in general, I would love to see them live again.

15. Review your favourite LostAlone album track-by-track (we recommend using an image form if posting to twitter)

My favourite LostAlone album is "Shape of Screams"

Sorry in advance if I do not make seance.
All of the songs are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--QfJwaNcOs&list=PLrUl-jfC2FgroK3rrn_bDA2ojYDBdcTiC

  • Crusaders -A Marching band with a hopeful message which hypes me up.  Good harmony with the 'perpetrator' (guitar).
  • The Bells! The Bells! - Reminds me of Church bells ringing. The first hit and cry out to change  where you are and what to do which is depicted really well. The drums and the base is strong sns i like that about this song.
  • Hostages(destiny) - Strong message that we are who we are and we are one of our self. The guitar riff of this song is catchy..
  • Sombre Party(legacy) - This song reminds o me of walking or stepping forward to the future."We're afraid or is our love afraid" We are all afraid of things but we can go on to the future.
  • G.U.I.L.T.Y - Very upbeat and almost like fighting with the emotion "guilt" in your brain.
  • Mental Health - Strong message of Mental health awareness and a scream from those difficulties.
  • Apathy - I do not know But I think this talks about some one trying to getting over Trauma.
  • Scarlet Letters Rhymes - This sounds like a game show theme song as Steven talks about each of the songs.
  • I was Born to End This way - I think it is a song of a type of a scream, a desire that we all have. Have some thing to leave something incredible before we leave some where. It can be before we die or before we leave a place behind.
  • Requiem - It is a requiem of who they are and the suffering and struggle of finding who they are.
  • Doooooooooooomageddon (Global Thermonuclear Metafictional Wharfare) - The very first riff is like a dinosaur.
  • Breathing in the Future and Exhaling the Past - Very beautiful harmony and different from the hard rock music. This song sums all of the songs in the album.

16. Which LostAlone song has the most plays on your Ipod/MP3 device?

I reckon It will be "Love will east you a live" or Crusaders or Mental health.

17. A LostAlone song you'd love to see as a music video?

Defiantly "put pain to paper".  I am even willing to think of all of  the camera shots and script of how it will turn out.

One of my Favourite Bands: LostAlone (Part 1)

Hello! It has been a long time since I have written about anything.

So much has been happening I and I thought I need to to get back on track.
This time I thought I will write about one thing I enjoy :Music ans lyrics/poems.
Most of the time I like the music and then I start to look into and analyse the meaning.
I found this challenge called the "30 day of LostAlone Challenge" that was created by the fans of LostAlone in 2014 February.
I have never done it before so I might do it but not in 30 days. You might find some music that you might like from this post.

I will say sorry in advance if I do not explain things well. Some things are difficult to explain why I like things.

Now, here we go!

1. How did you first discover LostAlone?

I first discovered LostAlone When I want to the UK to study abroad.
It was introduced it by my dear friend Ruth and her mother Lorraine.

2. First LostAlone song you ever heard?

To be honest, I am not sure which song i actually listened  to the first because I heard it in a car travelling from the Airport to my friends house. I will say it was any of the songs from "I'm a UFO in this city".

3. Have you ever seen LostAlone live? If so, when/where?

Yes!! I have seen them live 3 times!
I first saw them in 2014 January in Preston in a place called 53 degrees.
The second time was in 2014 April at Sound control in Manchester.
AND in Edinburgh 2 days after the Manchester gig!! :)

4. Favourite LostAlone live performance?

This one is very difficult.... I will say for me, the 2014 Manchester and the Edinburgh gigs.
Manchester was because I was able to go on stage and sing with the band.
Edinburgh gig is because I again I was able to go n stage and sing with them too but even though there were technical difficulties for Steven (main vocal) he performed a brilliantly and the band was awesome!
5. Favourite song from "Say No To The World"?

It has to be "Blood is Sharp"! When it starts out with the lyric "Don’t waste your feelings and your hopes on love' ans then the song gradually builds up and the heavy drums, base and the guitar creates are Srong atmosphere. I can not believe this song is 10 years old.

6. Favourite song from "I'm A UFO In This City"?

7. Favourite song from "Shapes of Screams"?

All of the songs from Shapes of Screams are my favourite because I listened to the album again and again. But if I really have to pick, It would be "Mental health". It is a song that make e think about many things and  It has a strong message.

8. Favourite LostAlone B-side?

"Honey and Burlesque" I just like this song out of the B-side songs.

9. Favourite acoustic song or song you'd like to hear an acoustic version?

My Favourite song that I would like to hear in a acoustic version is "Put Pain to Paper".
It might be a difficult song for Steven to perform but It would be a interesting one to have it sung in a more slow tempo.

10. Favourite LostAlone music video?

My favourite LostAlone music Video is "Crusaders".
